Free things to do in Torre del Mar ?


Take a stroll along the paseo maritimo, nicknamed the paseo mas bonito de Europa.

The 4 km or so of the paseo maritimo is an area of outstanding beauty. You can also reach the delightful fishing port of Caleta de Velez.

Río Chillar walk

Visit the former Torre del Mar sugar cane factory


This site, now a museum and exhibition centre, tells the story of sugar cane in Torre del Mar and the Costal des Sol. This free visit is really interesting. There is also a permanent exhibition on the settlement of the Phoenicians in the region 3,000 years ago!

The via ferrata at Zafarraya


The via ferrata at Zafarraya is a colourful ‘vertical hike’ in Andalusia. A via ferrata (which can be translated as ‘vertical hike’) is a route that is both vertical and horizontal, equipped with a variety of equipment.

Note: what you’ll find on a via ferrata: steel holds, chains, suspension bridges and tyrolean traverses, which allow you to safely reach areas that are difficult to access.
