This fiesta is a great opportunity to spend a day in the “high Axarquia”, discovering the villages of Colmenar and Riogordo.

The dates of the Fiesta

This gastronomic festival, the Fiesta del Mosto y de la Chacina de Colmenar, will be held on 24 November 2024.

Here is some information, in Spanish, about mosto and chacina:

The 2023 Fiesta programme

This fiesta is an opportunity to discover and taste many of the region’s typical products, in particular cold meats, accompanied by “vino dulce” or “vino seco”.

The day is also an opportunity to discover traditional folklore: the verdiales. This is an ancestral type of fandango typical of Axarquia and the Montes de Málaga. I actually discovered the verdiales at this fiesta.
