The boqueron (anchovy) cannot be separated from the Costa del Sol, and particularly from Málaga and Rincon de la Victoria. The people of Málaga call themselves ‘los boquerones’.

Rincon de la Victoria will be celebrating the Anchovy Festival from 3 to 8 September 2024.

Rincón de la Victoria will be celebrating the Fiesta from 3 to 8 September, with cookery workshops, the ‘Sabor a Málaga’ market and 1,250 kilos of anchovies for free tasting in 40 restaurants.

Note : The fame of skewer of sardines (espeto de sardinas) has gradually supplanted this tradition. However, the tradition is still very much alive, and is celebrated during this festival with numerous tastings.
