A few words about Algarrobo and the fiesta
Algarrobo is an authentic white village in Axarquia, in the province of Malaga. Saint John’s Eve is traditionally celebrated in Algarrobo Costa.

About Saint John’s Eve
The Fiesta de San Juan, like many festivals, was originally a pagan festival, which was taken over by the Christian religion and has also become a traditional festival.
Dates of the Feast of Saint John
The Fiesta de la San Juan will be held on 23 June 2024 from 9pm.
Algarrobo is organising a big moraga on that evening.
A moraga is a traditional popular festival in Andalusia and particularly on the Costa del Sol. It is a beach party where you can enjoy espetos de sardinas, among other things.
Originally this party was held from time to time after the fishing nets were taken out of the water. The fish was grilled on the beach that evening!
