Where does the horseback riding take place in the Malaga area?
These rides start from the equestrian centre of Julia, just outside Velez-Malaga.
The 4 hour horse ride can take different paths, sometimes through river beds,
and will take you through tropical fruit fields (mango and avocado trees)
You will also sometimes pass by vineyards, and you can enjoy beautiful landscapes. Some of them with beautiful views of the sea.
This horseback ride – the 4 hour one – will take you to the white village of Almachar, surrounded by vineyards!
This ride lasts 4 hours or 5 hours on horseback, not including the lunch break.
A few words about Julia, the centre’s manager, and her horses
Julia is a graduate of the BHS (British Horse Society). All of Julia’s horses are PRE (Pura Raza Española) or Spanish-Arabian.
The riding centre is approved by the Junta de Andalucía for active tourism/equestrian tourism.
Julia speaks Spanish, German and English and a little French.
Choosing a horse ride according to your level
The 4-hour horseback ride presented above is for experienced riders.
You need to know how to walk, trot and gallop safely.
The price is 75 euros for 4 hours. Lunch is not included.
It is sometimes possible to do 5 hour routes. This depends on the season and the weather.
The lunch break is on the road:
1 and 2 hours horse riding
It is also possible to do shorter rides (1 hour: 20€ or 2 hours 38€) for less experienced riders.
The riding centre also offers riding lessons for adults and children.
A 45 minute lesson: 20€.
